Newsha rehabilitation center
Newsha Hearing Institute began its activity in March 2001. The center uses the latest technology and teaching techniques to improve the performance of hearing impaired people. The implementation of modern diagnostic and rehabilitation protocols is one of the important activities of this specialized center.
The Institute is the first comprehensive rehabilitation center for hearing -impaired people throughout the country. Introducing and launching the first Auditory-verbal clinic in Iran, Newsha Hearing Institute has been the official representative of the "Alexander Bell Association" for hearing impaired people since 2003.
Added to the institute, the Newsha Knowledge-Based Foundation was established in 2014, with the aim of designing and supplying hardware and software equipment for hearing impaired people.
The first things at the Newsha Hearing Institute
- Development of theoretical frameworks, teaching the materials and implementation of Auditory-Verbal Therapy method in Iran.
- Development and implementation of a protocol for the assessment and treatment of Auditory processing Disorder (APD) or Bad Hearing in Iran.
- Simultaneous implementation of neuro-feedback and hemi-sync for people with Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD).
- Implementation of sound therapy protocols like Tomatis and AIT in Iran.
- Implementation of the Hyperacusis Assessment and Treatment Protocol in Iran.
- Compilation and implementation of the Oto-sociology protocol for the evaluation and treatment of Tinnitus in Iran.
- Implementation of Home-Based Auditory Rehabilitation.

- Auditory assessment of infants and children including:
- Evaluating of aided and unaided / cochlear implant, behavioral Hearing thresholds.
- OAE test to check the function of the inner ear.
- ABR test to test neural hearing performance
- ASSR test to assess hearing thresholds of infants and hard-test subjects.
- Prescribing and fitting hearing aids for infants, children and the elderly.

Some outstanding educational and clinical achievements since 2001 :
- Development of the first pediatric educational and therapeutic package for children with hearing loss and their parents (Newshan Package 1).
- Development of the first therapeutic package (sound therapy) for children and adults with CAPD (Newshan Package 2).
- Development of the first therapeutic package (sound therapy) for people with tinnitus (Newshan package 3).
- Launching the largest and most comprehensive informational site on hearing, hearing loss and CAPD in Iran.
- Designing the most comprehensive hearing and balance informational android application-Persian language (Newsha app).
- Holding more than 120 workshops for specialists in hearing, speech therapy and occupational therapy.
- Honorary cooperation with the International Association of Alexander Graham Bell (AGBell Organization) to implement the successful method of auditory-verbal in Iran.
- Compilation, translation and publication of specialized books on auditory-verbal methods, hearing aids and rehabilitation, tinnitus, electrophysiological assessments, language teaching to children with hearing loss.
- Publication of scientific articles in international journals.
- Founder of the Annual Educational and Cultural Symposia of the Family and hearing impaired Child in the World Deaf Week.
- Implementing the first comprehensive sound therapy software and hardware in Iran
- Implementation of tele-audiology assessment and rehabilitation protocol in Iran.
